NVQ Level Three

In 2006 Lloyd Maunder joined forces with Duchy College to develop an NVQ Level Three qualification for its chicken farmers.

The course is the first of its kind and consists of voluntary workshops, on-farm training days and discussion groups where industry experts are invited to speak about their specialist areas, including animal health, hazard analysis, water handling, first aid and wildlife.

To date, even producers with generations of farming experience behind them have found the course to be invaluable.  It is now a pre-requisite for all Lloyd Maunder chicken producers who, on completion, receive an independent certificate as proof of appropriate training.

For Lloyd Maunder, the scheme underpins its commitment to produce the highest quality product for its customers, for which first-class stockmanship is essential.
